We facilitate a teaching environment that offers an innovative and interactive approach to Christian-based character development and cognitive growth. Key Point Christian Academy strives to build leadership skills in every child, and prepare our students to be constructive members of our society.
Books:
Books are available from our own book fund. The books are paid for by the parents. When the student is hired, the parents will receive further instructions about book lists and payments. The fee for books is separate from the school fee.
Instruction language:
The Dutch language is the language of instruction for the subjects taught at school. It is possible that the teacher falls back on Papiamentu to make something clear.
Study guides:
To help students plan for processing and learning the subject matter, all teachers work with study guides. Each subject teacher provides a study guide per year per subject, per period. This indicates per week what the student has to do per week. This indicates per week which subject matter is covered. The tests are also indicated in the study guide.
It also states what the teacher will do and what is expected of the student. Tips are included so that the student can process the subject matter more independently. The study guides can be found for students and parents
Uniform:
The school uniform is a polo shirt with the school emblem and long trousers.
Flip flops and sandals are not allowed.
For PE lessons (gym), the students wear a t-shirt and sports pants, both with the school logo. School clothes can only be purchased from a company designated by the school.
School hours:
For classes 1,2 and 3 school starts from 7.30 am to 2 pm. Each subject is 45 minutes.
For upper secondary education, school hours must be taken into account, which may end later (until 14:45).
Care structure:
Assuming a good pedagogical climate for good education, there are students who need more attention. We are alert if there are students who need extra guidance.
Our starting point is small classes with a maximum of 15 students in the class. Our care structure consists of a mentor, dean, study counselor, and if necessary, external care providers. If necessary, we draw up a “tailor-made” action plan for the special needs students.
We have a manual pupil tracking system in which information from the class book is sent to the relevant parents every day. The students receive personal attention as the groups are small. Pupils with special needs also receive appropriate help.
